Car Rental Companies Get Greener.
I don't mean cash green, I mean environmentally green. USA Today, reported the auto rental giants Avis and Hertz are adding thousands of fuel-efficient hybrid cars to their fleets this month.

Hertz reported that it is adding one thousand Toyota Prius gas-electric hybrids into its U.S. inventory this month. They will be available at fifty main airport locations and in Manhattan. The company expects to have close to two thousand hybrids in its four hundred thousand plus-vehicle U.S. and European fleet by the end of this year and four thousand three hundred by the middle of next year.
Enterprise says it has more fuel-efficient vehicles than any other rental car company in the world, with three hundred and thirty thousand vehicles that get at least 28 miles per gallon, including almost two hundred thousand that average at least 32 mpg.
The data does not include either corporate-leased fleet vehicles or the additional three hundred thousand vehicles added to its U.S. inventory in March.
